History

John B. Foley, Marianne’s late father, was one of the early pioneers in plastics from 1959 until his death in 1986. Mr. Foley started in the poly industry as a bag converter and over the years grew his company to include numerous extrusion lines, as well as having the bag converting capabilities. Mr. Foley became an icon for honesty and integrity in this business.

Marianne grew up in the industry, working in various capacities (scheduling, quotes, customer service, inside sales) for the family business. Eventually she ran a buying group for paper and packaging distributors. The buying group offered packaging products from paper towels and tissue, tape, twine to bags from A (bags for automatic packaging equipment) to Z (zipper reclosable bags).

After Mr. Foley’s death in 1986, the Foley family sold the two companies they owned in 1988. Marianne then founded Foley Flexible Packaging in 1991 in New Jersey. She later moved the company to North Texas.

Marianne has also expanded the company to include a new division, Poly Bags USA, to include an online shopping cart that offers about 18,000 packaging products catering to the needs of any business.
